Sven Engel, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Sven Engel started his career with Hoechst AG in 1978. There he was involved in different pre-clinical examinations followed by a period of genetic engineering with various projects including scaling up procedures using methods of biotechnology. In 1990, he started his professional work with the department of clinical research signing responsibilities for in-house coordination, monitoring, data management and international co-monitoring of phase III studies in the common field of anti-infectives. A period of international marketing and responsibilities for Asian/Pacific regions followed. He held during several years responsible positions in clinical development programs and initiated the founding of Amantec GmbH in 1999, a contract research organization offering the full service of clinical development.
While being well familiar with all aspects of clinical research and aware of the needs of people dealing with this kind of projects, he stimulated the development of user-friendly and efficient software. In 2006, SynapCon Ltd. was founded and the development of the CTMS EasyClin® took its course. The eClinical tool EasyClin® is based on professional expert knowledge from clinical studies over many years. Using all synergy effects, SynapCon Ltd. has recently started offering the full service of an international CRO.
Christoph Ender, Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Christoph Ender is the Chief Technology Officer of SynapCon Ltd. He co-founded the company in 2006 and has been responsible for IT as well as the development of the Clinical Trial Management System EasyClin®. Before, he managed the IT infrastructure for Amantec GmbH, focusing on a law-conformant system. Other activities have included development and maintenance of a B2B- and Shopping Platform for a German game distributor for over ten years and implementation work for a private banking frontend at Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt.
Out of interest, he has also worked on the implementation of a legacy virtual machine interpreter. The basis for these activities is a degree in computer science at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
Joachim Löw, Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Joachim Löw, co-founder of SynapCon Ltd. in 2006, is responsible for Finance and represents the Chief Financial Officer of the company.
After having taken his university degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Controlling and Business Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences, Wiesbaden, he started in 1988 his career as Financial Analyst and since 1990 he has been Business Administration Manager, responsible for Finance and Controlling as well as for Order Handling, Purchasing, Material Management and EDP, in the biomedical industry. At the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden he had the opportunity to act as college lecturer for the Department of Economics teaching Management Accounting and Database Management Systems.
In 1991, he co-founded Schulz & Löw Consulting GmbH where he developed pioneering software solutions for project management by combining innovative IT technology and Finance and Controlling competences. As head of the consulting business unit of Schulz and Löw Consulting he also worked with his team as Interim Manager and Consultant for various international companies. This included also the takeover of responsibility for Finance during periods of restructuring or merging projects for the customers. Since 2005, he has focused on Interim Management projects as a freelancer.
Monika Bubenzer is Assistant to the Management at SynapCon Ltd. Her long-standing experience in the public health sector, starting as a registered nurse, combined with the successfully completed studies in Biotechnology, supplemented by Computer Science, at the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, provides ideal conditions in the broad field of Clinical Research.
